Our commitment
In the United Arab Emirates, individuals with disabilities are recognised as ‘People of Determination’ (POD), in accordance with the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Aligned with the vision of the UAE leadership, Dubai Airports is dedicated to providing special assistance to PODs.
From kerb to gate, Dubai Airports has implemented inclusive design across all guest touchpoints and facilities. This encompasses parking, elevators, travellators, toilets, lounges, airport trains, seating, prayer rooms, loading bridges, bus transfers and baggage collection.
The inclusive design caters to both visible and non-visible disabilities, with spatial considerations for guests with limited or restricted mobility. Airport signage and wayfinding are tailored to facilitate easy navigation for PODs.
In conjunction with the initiatives undertaken by our partners – Dubai Police, dnata, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai Customs, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) – both DXB and DWC offer a comprehensive range of services for guests with all forms of impairment.

The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) provides world-class services for guests travelling through DXB and DWC.
Medical transportation assistance
dnata offers transportation services for guests requiring medical assistance, facilitated by medical escorts, between Airport Medical Centres. For medical transportation assistance, please contact your airline to ensure swift and professional care.
