Our Commitment

In the United Arab Emirates, individuals with disabilities are recognised as ‘People of Determination’ , in accordance with the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Aligned with the vision of the UAE leadership, Dubai Airports is dedicated to providing special assistance to those who need it.

From kerb to gate, Dubai Airports has implemented inclusive design across all guest touchpoints and facilities. This encompasses parking, elevators, travellators, toilets, lounges, airport trains, seating, prayer rooms, loading bridges, bus transfers and baggage collection.

The inclusive design caters to both visible and non-visible disabilities, with spatial considerations for guests with limited or restricted mobility. Airport signage and wayfinding are also tailored to facilitate easy navigation for People of Determination.

In conjunction with the initiatives undertaken by our partners – Dubai Police, dnata, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai Customs, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) – DWC offers a comprehensive range of services for guests with disabilities.
